On the afternoon of April 1st, heavy and sustained haze blew into Silverton with strong SSW'ly winds. We are not yet certain of the end time of this 5th dust-on-snow event of Water Year 2014 (D5), so the windrose below is preliminary.

Here in Silverton, this D5 event was not nearly as dramatic as Sunday afternoon's D4 event or the March 27th D3 event. Snow is now falling and covering these recent dust layers. We will be sampling the D5 dust at Swamp Angel Study Plot in the days to come.
