CODOS UPDATE December 5, 2022: SNow School, CO Gives Day, Storm Reports
Greetings from Silverton,
Snow School for Water Professionals: As a reminder we are offering Snow School for Water Professionals this winter from February 8 - 10, 2023. Mornings will be in the classroom and afternoons in the field. We will even have a personalized tour of Red Mt SNOTEL with NRCS’ Karl Wetlaufer. Click here to download flyer, please circulate in your workplace and please do not hesitate to contact us with questions. You can pay with credit card at snowstudies.org. Once you register please notify us that you did so.
Colorado Gives Day: Thank you for considering making a donation to our efficient and productive non-profit. Colorado Gives Day, December 6, is the opportune time to donate. The Community First Foundation offers incentive funds and bonus drawings for non-profits that receive donations through Colorado Gives Day website. You can donate by following this link: www.coloradogives.org.
Your contribution will:
Continue the 20-year data collection effort at our energy balance and climate stations in Senator Beck Study Basin.
Support dust-on-snow observations and reporting across Colorado.
Support state-of-the-science research and modeling efforts.
Storm Reports: Now that persistent snowcover is established in Senator Beck Study Basin we will begin issuing storm reports when we receive at least 0.5” precipitation. A report summarize the passing storm with a few statistics, graphs, and discussion. Although it is San Juan Mt focused, we do discuss happenings around the state. Reports are issued via email but also available on our snowstudies.org website. If you wish to be added to this email list, do nothing. If you wish to be removed, let me know. If you think a co-worker would enjoy these reports (or these CODOS updates) please have them contact us.
Take Care
